Founded in 2010, WeisenhausArchitecture is a full service architectural firm engaging in a diverse range of project types, including retail, restaurants, office, residential, entertainment, hotels and health care. Besides focusing on individual buildings, the firm specializes in complex mixed-use projects that meld various building types into vibrant places of community.


Each project has its unique aspirations and parameters which calls for customized solutions tailored to meet its programmatic, budgetary and place-making requirements. Firm Leadership

Duane B. Weisenhaus, AIA LEED AP

President / CEO


WeisenhausArchitecture founder Duane B. Weisenhaus has over 30 years of architecture experience, most of it with some of Southern California's leading architecture firms, notably Perkowitz+Ruth, Gensler & RBB Architects.


As Project Manager for Perkowitz+Ruth, Mr. Weisenhaus successfully lead numerous projects in mixed-use, retail, entertainment and hospitality, including the Pacific Theatres Glendale 18, the anchor tenant of Caruso Affiliated's internationally acclaimed Americana at Brand.


Prior to P+R, Mr. Weisenhaus worked for the globally influential firm Gensler as Project Architect on such projects as the Cinerama Dome / ArcLight Entertainment Center in Hollywood and The Strand at Huntington Beach (retail/hotel/office mixed use). Other projects include the Dreamworks Animation Campus and the Las Vegas Monorail.


Prior to Gensler, Mr. Weisenhaus worked for various firms on diverse projects in health care, commercial, multi-family and single-family residential. He is a graduate of the School of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology.


Mr. Weisenhaus is an active member of Urban Land Institute currently on the Urban Marketplace Committee, a previous TOD Committee member and an OC Chapter Placemaking Council member. He was also a recent member of Central City Association on the Land Use and Transportation Committees.

Mr. Weisenhaus is partner and Chief Design Officer for Urban Innovation Group (UIG). A real estate and business development company, UIG focuses on transforming urban communities to become vibrant, integrated and sustainable neighborhoods. Projects include residential, commercial and mixed-use projects in Southern and Northern California.
